Cabin crew workers of Air Tahiti Nui across French Polynesia striking as of July 10. Flight disruptions reported, protests possible.

Warning

Event

Unionized cabin crew workers of Air Tahiti Nui (TN) are continuing an indefinite strike as of July 10 across French Polynesia to demand wage revision. The action - which began at 00:01 July 5 - has disrupted multiple flights. Affected routes include those connecting to Australia and New Zealand. The action has disrupted flights of codesharing partners like Qantas Airways (QF). Lingering flight disruptions are also possible following the strike's conclusion as carriers work to clear passenger and flight backlogs. Workers may withdraw the action at short notice if negotiations succeed.

Strike-related protests are possible, mainly near airports and airline offices, as well as public squares. Dozens of people may attend each event. Minor skirmishes with security personnel cannot be ruled out, especially if demonstrators attempt to forcibly enter airports.

Advice

Confirm flights. Do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed. Exercise caution around any protests that materialize. Allow additional travel time to and from airports, and any known demonstration venues. Plan for processing delays at airports.
