Protesting agricultural workers have blocked multiple roads in Santa Cruz Department Feb. 22, causing significant transport disruptions throughout the department. Protesters have reported blocked thoroughfares in the municipalities of Cuatro Canadas, El Puente, Pailon, San Julian, and Okinawa. They have also blocked transit across two bridges in the department - Puente la Amistad located west of Montero and Puente Pailas situated east of Puerto Pailas.

Additional protests and roadblocks are possible, especially in rural areas of Santa Cruz Department. Clashes cannot be ruled out, especially if police attempt to forcibly disperse demonstrators and unblock roads.
