Prior to joining WorldAware, Lee worked as a Program Manager and Research Assistant in the Asia Division of the International Security Program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). He coordinated and managed a range of projects on U.S. relations in East Asia including alliance management with Japan and South Korea, U.S.-China coordination on DPRK (North Korea) contingency planning, and China-Taiwan cross-Strait dialogue. Prior to joining CSIS, he served as a Brent Scowcroft Award Fellow within the Aspen Strategy Group of the Aspen Institute in Washington, DC.
Lee received his masters in international relations from the Elliott School of International Affairs at the George Washington University, and his undergraduate degree in international relations with honors from Claremont McKenna College. Lee is based out of WorldAware's Singapore Office.
Mike is responsible for service delivery of WorldAware’s world-class intelligence portfolio WorldCue® to our global clients and partners, leveraging strategic subject matter experts for bespoken intelligence analysis, and providing a full spectrum of security & risk consultancy to the largest, most complexed corporations and organizations in the world.
Mike is an experienced intelligence professional in both government service and the private industry. Mike was a Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) operations officer and served multiple combat tours as a US Army Major. He holds a Master’s degree in Strategic Intelligence from the National Intelligence University, Washington DC, and was awarded the CIA’s Intelligence Star for Valor in the field.
In the private sector, Mike created competitive intelligence programs for Fujitsu Limited (Tokyo) and Ernst&Young LLP, and cofounded the cyber intelligence company, iSIGHT Partners (acquired by FireEye). He established the industry’s first cyber threat intelligence programs at Pacific Gas and Electric Company in California and at Visa Incorporated.
He is on the United States Defense Intelligence Agency’s National Intelligence University Foundation Board of Directors and the ASIS International™ Strategic Planning Commission, is a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM™) and Certified Protection Professional (CPP™).
Alison Payne serves as an intelligence analyst on the Middle East and North Africa Team at WorldAware. She holds a Masters of Arts in Middle East Studies from the American University in Cairo, where she also studied Arabic through the Arabic Language Institute's intensive program. In addition, she holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies with a concentration in the Middle East from Washington College.
Courtney joined WorldAware in July 2014. She obtained her degree from Marlboro College with a focus on combat psychology and traumatic brain injuries in military veterans from the Vietnam Era through OEF/OIF, with a double-major in Islamic studies. She is a licensed Emergency Medical Technician and has practiced her skills for over ten years with fire departments in Vermont and Maryland, US, and has worked in rural medical clinics in Zimbabwe and Guatemala.
Brendan O'Reilly has spent most of his adult life living and working in China, India, and New Zealand. He is fluent in Mandarin Chinese. A variety of publications, including Asia Times, The Diplomat, and the BBC have featured Brendan's geopolitical analysis. His main areas of expertise are China's foreign policy and its domestic sociopolitical dynamics. Brendan's nine years of on-the-ground experience in the Asia-Pacific greatly aid his continuing work as an analyst for WorldAware.
Of Sri Lankan roots, Sumedha brings a strong international affairs background and extensive experience in researching the MENA region. Prior to coming to WorldAware, he worked as a researcher/writer for Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty and was a media analyst at the Rendon Group. He has 15 years of experience and holds a BA in Psychology from Sarah Lawrence College and an MA in Arab Studies from Georgetown University. He has also lived and studied in Egypt and Yemen and speaks Arabic, Sinhala, and some French.
