Samantha joined WorldAware in August 2017 with the acquisition of Prescient Traveler. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology and Archaeology with minors in Geography and Asian Studies from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) in 2013. Samantha spent time traveling and working in heritage management before joining Prescient Traveler as a Geospatial Intelligence Analyst and completing her Master of Science degree in Geospatial Information Science and Technology (GIST) from the University of Southern California (USC) in 2017. She uses her skills in human and environmental geography to produce and develop spatially-minded intelligence.
Genevieve attended Stellenbosch University (SU) where she obtained an undergraduate degree in International Studies (2010), an Honours in Political Science: International Relations (2011) and a Masters in Political Science (2013). She also undertook additional coursework for SPSS and Mandarin during her studies. Before joining the WorldAware team as an analyst, she worked as a Freelance Coder for the Manifestos Project (Germany) and as the Manager of USAID's Hosted Visitors program for Agritech 2014 (Zambia). She was appointed as a Senior Political Risk Analyst for East Africa in 2016. (Afrikaans).
Michael Baney is the senior intelligence manager for the Americas at WorldAware. He graduated from American University, where he earned a B.A. in political science, a graduate certificate in international economic relations, and M.A. in international affairs.
Of Sri Lankan roots, Sumedha brings a strong international affairs background and extensive experience in researching the MENA region. Prior to coming to WorldAware, he worked as a researcher/writer for Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty and was a media analyst at the Rendon Group. He has 15 years of experience and holds a BA in Psychology from Sarah Lawrence College and an MA in Arab Studies from Georgetown University. He has also lived and studied in Egypt and Yemen and speaks Arabic, Sinhala, and some French.
Brendan O'Reilly has spent most of his adult life living and working in China, India, and New Zealand. He is fluent in Mandarin Chinese. A variety of publications, including Asia Times, The Diplomat, and the BBC have featured Brendan's geopolitical analysis. His main areas of expertise are China's foreign policy and its domestic sociopolitical dynamics. Brendan's nine years of on-the-ground experience in the Asia-Pacific greatly aid his continuing work as an analyst for WorldAware.
