As of mid-September, more than 4 million acres have burned across California. The August 17 lightning strikes are responsible for starting hundreds of fires across Northern California. Evacuations impact several counties as hundreds of wildfires threaten populated areas across the state. California was placed under a state of emergency as efforts continue to contain the wildfires.
