As of Nov. 2, emergency crews have largely contained the Getty Fire near Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles County, California. As of 1900 PDT Nov. 1, the fire was 301 hectares (745 acres) in size and was 74-percent contained. All evacuation orders were lifted and all roads reopened in the impact area Nov. 1. Residents are being allowed to return home. The fire destroyed 10 residential properties and damaged 15 others. Five firefighters were injured battling the flames.
Emergency crews are likely to remain in the area in the coming days to monitor possible flare-ups. Residual ground travel and power supply disruptions are possible.
