Ben is Chief Executive Officer responsible for the strategic growth and direction of WorldAware. Ben brings a wealth of directly relevant experience, most recently serving over the last four years as President of Marsh & McLennan Agency, LLC (MMA), a division of Marsh, Inc., the largest global insurance broker. Prior to this position, Ben served in numerous leadership roles with Kroll, including President & CEO from 2008 through 2010 when it was sold by Marsh & McLennan Companies to a private equity firm. Ben also served as CEO of Ontrack Data International, a public technology company, and continued to lead that organization after it was acquired by Kroll in 2002. His experience leading both large and small companies in the technology, security, and insurance sectors are an incredibly valuable asset to WorldAware and driving our company strategy. Ben completed his college education at Washington State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a concentration in securities and corporate finance.
Bruce is a recognized leader in the risk management, travel, and intelligence industries. A WorldAware founder, Bruce has been the key contributor to the company’s strategic growth, securing its position as a leader in business resiliency with the development of the Worldcue® Global Control Center. Prior to joining WorldAware, Bruce was founder and CEO of CSSI, an Inc. 500 and four-time Washington Technology FAST 50 company that developed software for the intelligence community. He has also served as a lead architect on intelligence programs for the US government.
He is a trustee of Allegheny College, where he received a BS in Physics, and holds a MS in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University.
Nuno Pereira joined WorldAware in 2014 and is responsible for technology operations and product innovation. The product research and development division, called WorldAware Labs, is comprised of innovation centers located in Maryland, Virginia, and London. He directs WorldAware's current and future systems architecture, design, development, and operations. With 20 years of experience, Nuno most recently served as the CTO for Incentive Technology Group, which specializes in Software-as-a-Service delivery of Business Process Management and Asset Management solutions. Prior to that, he had an extended career at IBM, where he experienced every facet of IT including consulting services, software development, hardware deployment, and technical sales. Nuno is a Computer Science graduate from the University of Maryland, College Park.
Mike Briskey joined WorldAware in 2014 with a long history serving in senior finance roles at high-growth business and consumer service companies. Mike is responsible for the company’s finance, accounting, treasury, and administrative operations and will also assist in the management of the mergers & acquisitions program at WorldAware. Most recently, Mike was CFO for Academic Partnerships, which assists universities in creating and growing online degree programs. Prior to that, he was CFO for ATX Group, which provides responsive safety and security services for Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Toyota/Lexus. He also served as Senior Vice President and Treasurer at ACE Cash Express, one of the largest retail financial services companies in the U.S. In this role, Mike was also responsible for real estate (1,200+ locations), risk management and mergers & acquisitions. Mike earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame, and his MBA from Loyola University Maryland.
Ellen joined WorldAware in 2007. In addition to her role as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, she serves as Chief Compliance Officer for WorldAware. Ellen is responsible for all legal and compliance matters for WorldAware, including contracting, data privacy, mergers and acquisition, intellectual property and corporate compliance matters. She brings more than 15 years of legal experience to WorldAware. Previously, Ellen served as Senior Counsel for Manugistics, Inc., a global provider of supply chain management software solutions where she oversaw the company’s international legal matters and intellectual property filings. Ellen has extensive experience in corporate matters and contract negotiation. She is a graduate of St. Joseph’s University and has a JD from The National Law Center at the George Washington University.
Maureen is Senior Vice President Sales, responsible for leading WorldAware’s Sales Team and co-leading the company’s direct sales global community which identifies, develops and shares best practices across all of WorldAware’s worldwide sales team. Over the past nine years, Maureen has served as WorldAware’s major account executive, and more recently as WorldAware’s Vice President, Major Account Sales. During her time at WorldAware, Maureen has been consulting with and assisting Fortune 500 and Global 1000 companies, helping them to achieve their business continuity and integrated risk management objectives. Prior to joining WorldAware, Maureen was in a strategic sales role at Motorola, specializing in RFID technology solutions. She has also held consulting, sales and customer service leadership roles at Manugistics, Mobil Chemical Company and Nabisco Foods Group.
Maureen has a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing, with a concentration in supply chain management, from Ball State University.
Mark is responsible for overseeing WorldAware’s Customer Success program, including consulting, customized security operation centers, and education and training. He brings over 22 years of program management and leadership experience to WorldAware. Previously, Mark served as the Senior Program Manager at WorldAware, where he established and maintained the Program Management Office and was responsible for several large-scale programs, both commercial and government. Prior to joining WorldAware, Mark was Senior Director of Satellite Communication Division at TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. (TCS), where he directed the day-to-day operations of a Satellite Communications Operations Center and its engineering team. During his tenure at TCS, Mark held multiple program management positions in the areas of satellite and terrestrial telecommunications and wireless carrier software for both government and commercial programs. Mark is a trustee and graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy. He also spent eight years as a Naval Surface Warfare Officer filling both engineering and operational roles.
Theresa Thomas is Senior Vice President of the Powered by WorldAware Business Unit and responsible for building partnerships to enable organizations to deliver insight through WorldAware’s people and location-centric intelligence and services. In her current role, Theresa is responsible for building a two-way ecosystem of content, intelligence and services that serve the B2B2B markets with a focus on top tier 3rd party technology and servicing organizations. During her 20+ year career, Theresa has worked in numerous companies’ across the travel industry, holding several leadership positions within the B2B and B2C environments. Most recently, these include Chief Marketing Officer with a leading travel publisher, President of her own Strategic Marketing firm and thirteen plus year’s highlighted by recruitment, promotion, and retention by leading firms including American Express, Federal Express, and AT&T. Theresa is from Ohio but has lived in Southern New Jersey since 1996.
Angela joined WorldAware in 2017 and is responsible for the development and implementation of the company's global human resources strategy, along with leading initiatives that attract, engage, retain and develop a strong global team.
Angela has over 15 years of human resources leadership experience in international development, risk management, property management, and non-profit industries. Prior to joining WorldAware, she led HR teams at CAMRIS international, Witt O'Brien's and Donohoe Hospitality Services. In those roles, she provided HR leadership for significant business transformation and organizational change. She also helped launch and mange a global professional employer organization (PEO) which provides HR and accounting solutions for medium-sized government contracting firms.
Angela holds a BSc (hons) in Business Management and a post-graduate diploma in Management Studies from the University of Hull (Greenwich School of Management), England.
Chris joined WorldAware in 2016 and is responsible for WorldAware’s overall product strategy and product management capability. Over the past 20 years, Chris has held leadership roles in product management and product marketing in start-ups as well as larger organizations across a wide variety of enterprise and consumer markets. In his early career, Chris grew into increasing product roles and then leading a $250MM product line in the telecom monitoring market that was ultimately acquired by JDSU. Chris then joined WeatherBug / Earth Networks as VP of product, where he conceptualized and then built the mobile and consumer business unit that became the second largest and popular weather application for both iOS and Android. Last year, this business was acquired by location-based advertising network xAd. Chris also served as the head of Mobile Apps Ecosystem for VT iDirect, and VP product at Livesafe Inc. In his spare time, Chris has worked to mentor and grow new entrepreneurs at the Halcyon Incubator, a Washington, DC-based non-profit for social entrepreneurs.
Chris graduated from Purdue University with his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, and later received his MBA from The Johns Hopkins University.
As WorldAware’s VP Global Marketing, Marty is responsible for the company’s worldwide branding, marcomm and demand generation initiatives. Marty is a marketing veteran with over 20 years of technology and health care marketing experience. Prior to joining WorldAware, Marty served in leadership roles at Perfect Sense Digital, a technology platform company, and Catalyst DevWorks, an onshore application development firm. He also lead the marketing efforts of Shunra Software, up until its acquisition by HP, and AVIcode, Inc. until its acquisition by Microsoft. Marty’s lead generation and nurturing campaigns have garnered national recognition and been featured in the top-rated An Hour a Day book series on social media marketing.
In addition to his marketing career, Marty has television writing and collegiate soccer coaching experience. Marty earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Humanistic Studies from Johns Hopkins University.
