Summary
The Kuwaiti cabinet announced Feb. 24 that the government will cancel all National Day and Liberation Day celebrations set for Feb. 25-26. The decision to cancel events related to the holiday observances is a precautionary measure and comes amid fears over the spread of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in the region, particularly in Iran. Kuwait authorities have evacuated all Kuwaiti citizens from Iran and banned all flights to and from Iran after the spread of the disease within that country.
