A Democratic Party presidential primary debate will take place at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, starting at 2100 Jan. 14. A total of six presidential candidates will participate in the event.

Security forces will deploy near the venue as a standard procedure. Authorities will likely close roads near Drake University for the debate and may divert traffic or close lanes with little prior notice. Severe traffic disruptions are likely in the vicinity of the university for the duration of the event. While small-scale demonstrations are also likely, they are unlikely to cause major security disturbances.


Heed the instructions of security personnel. Allow extra time for travel near the event venue, Jan. 14, due to the potential for traffic disruptions.
