A protest march is scheduled to take place in Surabaya (East Java Province) on Tuesday, September 15, from 07:00 (local time). The demonstration has been organized by unionized ride-hailing drivers of two mobile applications. Around one thousand demonstrators plan to gather at several locations throughout Surabaya including at the Transport Department, Communication and Information Department, East Java Regional Police Headquarters, Business Competition Supervisory Commission, East Java Provincial Council, East Java governor's office, and the headquarters of Gojek and Grab, before ending their action at the Grahadi State Building. The protesters intend to march along main roads within the center of the city. Further protests outside of Surabaya are also possible.

Associated business and transportation disruptions are to be anticipated in the vicinity of the protest, as well as a heightened security presence.
