On Saturday, April 25, around 1000 people were evacuated from areas in Andong (Gyeongsangbuk-do province) due to mountain fires. Approximately 100 hectares (247 acres) of mountain land and four houses were burned; no casualties have been reported so far. Authorities have closed off roads in areas surrounding the fire. Reports suggest that the fire broke out on Friday, April 24; however, strong winds have worsened the flames.

Fire containment measures are ongoing in the area, and overland travel disruption is expected in the coming days.
