The National Weather Service (NWS) warned that a large tornado is moving towards Kansas City (Kansas state) as of 19:10 (local time) on the night of Tuesday, May 28. According to the NWS, the tornado is moving towards the Kansas Speedway and the Legends shopping center after moving near Interstate 70. Individuals in the area are being advised to take immediate shelter. Debris from the tornado has been reported along I-70 and north-northeast of Edwardsville. A tornado warning is in effect for the area until at least 20:00. Infrastructure damage and associated disruptions are expected in the coming hours.
