Protest over tolls on Pan-American Highway planned in northern outskirts of Lima (Lima Norte) May 30; heightened security presence and transportation disruptions expected on and around Pan-American Highway

Civil society groups are planning to hold a protest march in the northern outskirts of Lima (Lima Norte) on Thursday, May 30, to denounce tolls on the Pan-American Highway. Protesters are expected to gather at the Puente Piedra bypass zone at Kilometer 27 of the Pan-American Highway between 06:00 and 07:00 (local time).

A heightened security presence and transportation disruptions are to be expected near the march route. Clashes between protesters and security forces cannot be ruled out.
