Ongoing storm Axel has caused heavy rainfall across the country as of Tuesday, May 21, killing one person in Aurach (Bavaria) following a deadly road accident on Autobahn 6. On Monday, May 20, local authorities in the city of Wangen (Baden-Württemberg) raised a flood alarm following the passage of the storm. Heavy rain was also reported in Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, and Lower Saxony as well as in Hesse and North Rhine-Westphalia. Material damages and road closures were reported in areas located in the path of the storm.
