UK: Ground staff to strike at Heathrow and Luton airports April 26-May 3

Hundreds of baggage handlers and ground staff at London’s Heathrow Airport (LHR) and Luton Airport (LTN) to strike beginning April 26; airport service and flight delays possible

Hundreds of ground staff, including baggage handlers and check-in staff, at Heathrow Airport (LHR) and Luton Airport (LTN) serving London are planning to strike beginning Friday, April 26. Approximately 300 workers at LHR's terminals 2 and 4 are planning to strike from 00:00 (local time) on April 26 through 23:59 on Monday, April 29, affecting Air India, Thai Airlines, Alltalia, Saudi Arabian Airlines, Gulf Air, Air Serbia, Air Mauritius, Bulgaria Air, TunisAir, Tarom, and Air Malta services. Meanwhile, around 120 workers at LTN will hold a work stoppage from 18:00 on April 26 through 17:59 on Friday, May 3. This will primarily affect Wizz Air flights. Delays and congestion at LHR and LTN are expected during the strikes and flight delays are also possible.
