India: Flash flooding kills 31 in northern India April 16

Intense storms and resultant flooding caused at least 31 deaths in northern India as of Tuesday, April 16. The storms killed at least 16 people in Madhya Pradesh state, six in Rajasthan state, and nine others in Gujarat state. The weather system is set to move east, affecting Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Bihar, and West Bengal states, along with lesser effects in neighboring states, which may cause further damage. Flooding and associated disruptions, including road closures and infrastructure damage, are possible.
