Authorities will close the Jumla Airport (JUM) in western Nepal for a period of 20 days beginning Thursday, April 18. Workers will renovate and upgrade the sole runway along with the parking area at the airport, located in Jumla district (Karnali province). Flights to Nepalgunj (Banke district) served by Tara Airlines, Sita air, Summit Air, and Nepal Airlines will be affected by the closure. Maintenance and the airport closure may be extended past the expected May 7 deadline. Flight cancelations are expected during the renovation.
