Illinois State Police announced at approximately 19:40 (local time) on Thursday, March 7, that all lanes of Interstate 55 near Lincoln (Illinois state) have reopened after officers arrested a gunman barricaded in his car on the highway. Police officials closed all lanes of traffic on Interstate 55 in the area after the suspect crashed outside Lincoln while fleeing from federal law enforcement earlier in the day. Residual traffic disruptions are possible in the area.
