Warning

Event

Anti-government demonstrators are planning to stage a protest march from Independence Square in Podgorica on the evening (local time) of Saturday, March 2, to denounce the perceived unresponsiveness of government to citizens' concerns and to demand that the leaders of the current government resign. Protesters are expected to gather at Independence Square at 18:00, and then march on a circuitous route on Slobode toward Gorica, and then proceed onto Boulevard Ivana Crnojevića, Boulevard Stanka Dragojevića, and Boulevard Svetog Petra Cetinjskog before returning to Independence Square via Slobode. Localized traffic disruptions are to be expected along the march route.

The March 2 protest will mark the fourth such anti-government demonstration in Podgorica in recent weeks; similar demonstrations are to be anticipated in the capital over the coming weeks, especially on Saturdays.

Advice

Individuals in Podgorica are advised to avoid all protests and demonstrations as a precaution and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities.
