Weather officials issue yellow alerts for snow across most of the UK January 29-30; transportation disruptions likely

The Met Office issued yellow warnings (the lowest level in a three-tier system) for snow for a large part of England, including the capital London, as well as eastern, southeastern, and East Midlands parts of the country from Tuesday, January 29, through Wednesday, January 30. Snow is also expected to affect Northern Ireland, southern Scotland, and northern Wale. Significant transportation disruptions, notably on roads, are likely. Disruptions at London's airports, including Heathrow (LHR) and Gatwick (LGW) are also possible, along with potential rail disruptions.
