Taiwan: Flight delays likely at Taipei airport during Lunar New Year Feb. 2-10

Flight delays likely at Taipei Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) during Lunar New Year celebrations February 2-10

Warning

Event

Airport officials at Taipei Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) have warned of possible flight disruptions (including delays of up to four hours) due to an increase in travelers during Lunar New Year celebrations which will be held throughout Taiwan from Saturday, February 2, to Sunday, February 10. Increased congestion at travel hubs, demand for hotels (and higher prices), and car traffic are to be anticipated during the celebrations.

Advice

Individuals flying to, from, or via TPE during the abovementioned days are advised to confirm the status of their flights prior to departure for the airport and to contact their airlines for more information. Anticipate crowded travel conditions, including at airports, rail stations, roads, and hotels.
