Environment Canada issued winter storm warnings and advisories for portions of southeastern Ontario and southwestern Quebec on Monday, January 7, effective until the early hours (local time) of Tuesday, January 8. Meteorologists forecast snowfall of 10 cm (4 in) in Montreal to more than 20 cm (8 in) in parts of Ontario, including Kingston and the surrounding areas near eastern Lake Ontario, followed by freezing rain and rain. Strong winds are expected to accompany the precipitation, resulting in limited visibility. Adverse driving conditions are likely.
