Thousands of people reportedly participated in the demonstration that was organized by the Iranian government. According to state media reports, associated rallies were also held across the country. Further anti-US demonstrations are possible in the coming days after the US resumes sanctions against Iran on Monday, November 5.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that the sanctions are being resumed in an effort to force Iran to stop its nuclear and ballistic missile programs. The sanctions will target the country’s oil exports as well as over 600 individuals and companies.
