Heavy rain and resultant flooding has led to the deaths of at least 14 people across the country over the past two weeks as of October 31. According to Saudi authorities, four of the deaths were reported in Mecca, three in Baha, two in Eastern Province, and one each in Riyadh, Asir, Tabuk, Jizan, and Hail. In addition, Civil Defense forces have reportedly rescued nearly 300 stranded people nationwide, over a third of them in the Mecca region. According to the General Authority of Meteorology and Environment Protection, severe weather is forecast to continue in the coming days, including heavy rain and strong winds. Transportation disruption and power outages are possible.
