UK: London Tube Strike expands to three lines November 7-8 /update 3

London Tube worker strike to impact service on the Central and Waterloo & City lines November 7-8; underground transportation in central London to be affected

Rail workers' unions have called for its members on the London Underground's Central line to stage a 24-hour strike on November 7-8. A suspension of services on the Central line, which will also disrupt service on the Waterloo & City lines, is scheduled to occur between 12:00 (local times) on Wednesday, November 7, and 12:00 on Thursday, November 8. Rail services on the Piccadilly line will also be disrupted due to an associated strike.

Context

The Central line runs between Epping in Essex, in the north-east, to Ealing Broadway and West Ruislip, in the west. The Waterloo & City line runs between Waterloo and Bank, with no intermediate stops. Workers on the three Underground lines are demanding the implementation of policies promised by transportation officials.

Travelers are advised to plan alternate routes and allow for extra time to reach their destinations for the duration of the strike.
