Bangladesh: Nationwide transportation strike October 28-30

The Bangladesh Road Transport Workers' Federation has called for workers in the transportation industry to stage a nationwide 48-hour strike from 06:00 (local time) on Sunday, October 28 to 06:00 on Tuesday, October 30. According to local sources, the strike is being organized to request changes to the 2018 Road Transport Act passed by the Bangladeshi Parliament on September 19. Associated demonstrations will likely be held in major urban areas.
