Authorities in Papua New Guinea have announced that the country would temporarily suspend its visa-on-arrival program from Tuesday, October 30, to Friday, November 30. According to local sources, the decision to suspend the delivery of visas upon arrival was made to increase security ahead of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit which will be held in Papua New Guinea on November 17-18. Local authorities have announced that travelers to the country will have to obtain a visa from their nearest Papua New Guinean diplomatic mission.
