Heavy rainfall and flooding have been reported in south-central Texas from Monday, October 15, into Tuesday, October 16, leaving at least one person dead in Burnet county and prompting authorities to issue evacuation orders near the Llano River in Llano (Llano county). A portion of the FM 2900 bridge had reportedly collapsed in Kingsland (Llano county) on Tuesday, as well, and water was overflowing from a creek onto Interstate 10 in Kimble county as of Tuesday morning. Emergency services also performed several water rescues in the region due to flooding.
Further forecast rainfall may exacerbate flooding and lead to additional transportation disruptions, evacuations, and water rescues in south-central Texas over the coming days.
