Italy: Nationwide transportation strikes October 25-26 /update 1

Air, rail, and public transportation to be affected by strikes taking place October 25-26; confirm travel reservations

Various transportation strikes are to take place throughout Italy on Friday, October 26, with some beginning on Thursday evening. Aviation-sector workers will be on strike for 24 hours on Friday. Rail workers at Trenitalia (the national rail operator) Italo NTV (a privately-run high-speed train operator), Trenord (the company that operates regional passenger trains in the Lombardy region), and FSI (a group that oversees the country’s rail network) will strike for 24 hours from 21:00 (local time) on October 25. Public transportation workers in the Rome-Ciampino and Catania regions will also strike on October 26.
