In recent months, at least two foreign nationals have been drugged and robbed in the Kazakh city of Almaty. According to US diplomatic officials, one of the victims died. Reports indicate that both incidents took place near bars, and that in one case, the victim was given a cigarette laced with an incapacitating drug.
