An anti-racism demonstration, organized by the Senegalese community and activists of the Anti-Racist Network, will be held in Naples' Piazza Garibaldi on Friday, August 3, beginning at 17:00 (local time). Far-right counter protests may also take place in the same vicinity. Heightened security and localized traffic disruptions are expected near the demonstration site.

Context

The demonstration comes in response of to the shooting of a Senegalese migrant worker on August 2, believed to be racially motivated. The incident is reportedly one of several crimes against immigrants in recent months in the Campania region.
