Argentina: Metro strikes in Buenos Aires May 7, 9, 11 /update 3

Event

Buenos Aires Metro (subte) workers will stage strikes on the following days:

• On Monday, May 7, workers will not man metro turnstiles from 05:30 to 20:30 (local time) at Plaza de Mayo station, and will stage a full strike on line A from 20:30 to 23:30.
• On Wednesday, May 9, workers will not man metro turnstiles from 05:30 to 20:30 (local time) at Leandro N. Alem station, and will stage a full strike on line B from 20:30 to 23:30.
• On Friday, May 11, workers will not man metro turnstiles from 05:30 to 20:30 (local time) at Constitution station, and will stage a full strike on line C from 20:30 to 23:30.

Additional strikes are possible in the coming days. Increased road congestion, increased demand for taxis, and overcrowding on municipal buses are to be anticipated during strike periods.
