The city's major roads and highways where blocked; smaller protests were held in Sialkot, Sahiwal, Gujranwala, Multan, and Faisalabad.

The TLP has been holding protests at Lahore's Data Darbar since April 2, demanding the government fulfill various demands. The protest escalated on April 12.
