At least five people were killed and 14 others injured in a landslide that cascaded down the terraced sloped of a rice field in Brebes district, Central Java, on Thursday, February 22. Around 15 other people are missing. The landslide occurred following several days of heavy rain in the mountainous area. The area has since been evacuated due to fears of further landslides.

Landslides are common in Indonesia, especially during wet season between October and April, when rain lashes the country.
