The UK Met Office has issued a nationwide cold weather forecast for Sunday, February 25, lasting until at least Thursday, March 1. Strong winds and snow are expected throughout the week, particularly in southern and eastern parts of the country. Factoring in wind chill, maximum temperatures are expected to drop to -4°C (25°F) across much of the UK.

Individuals present in affected areas are advised to remain vigilant when driving in icy and snowy conditions, adhere to any advice issued by the local authorities, and keep abreast of the situation via weather forecasts. Generally, during periods of severe cold it is advisable to limit outdoor activities, especially for vulnerable individuals - e.g. children, seniors, and pregnant women. Watch for signs of hypothermia and seek immediate medical attention if they occur.
