Six people injured in explosion in Leicester on February 25; authorities rule out terrorism

An explosion was reported at a convenience store on Hinckley Road in Leicester around 19:00 (local time) on Sunday, February 25. Authorities have cordoned off Carlisle Street and a section of Hinckley Road and have evacuated residents from 60 nearby houses. At least six people were injured in the explosion, which also caused the collapse of apartments above the store. Authorities have not yet ascertained the cause of the blast, but have ruled out terrorism.
