On Tuesday, February 6, Israeli security forces fatally shot the alleged murderer of an Israeli settler, killed near the Jewish colony of Havat Gilad (West Bank) on January 9. On Tuesday, security forces entered the West Bank village of Al-Yamun, located 9 km (6 mi) from Jenin, at around 03:00 (local time) and surrounded the suspect’s house. The man reportedly went out of the house armed with a rifle, which led Israeli forces to open fire.

A major manhunt was carried out by Israeli security forces following the January 9 killing.
