France: Flooding along Seine continues Feb. 1 /update 2

High water levels in the Seine River continue to cause flooding and associated disruptions as of Thursday, February 1. On the evening of January 31, approximately 150 people were evacuated from their homes in the Elbeuf commune near Rouen and at least 30 homes were flooded in the region. Orange flood alerts (the second highest on a four-tier scale) remain in effect in the following departments: Seine-Maritime, Eure, Val-d'Oise, Yvelines, Paris, Seine-et-Marne, Marne, and Aube.

In Paris, the level of the Seine has receded since its peak on Monday evening; however, a number of stations on the RER C commuter rail line in Paris - Saint-Michel Notre-Dame, Musée d'Orsay, Invalides, Pont de l'Alma, Champ de Mars, Avenue du Président Kennedy, and Boulainvilliers - will remain closed until at least February 5.
