Belgium: Disruptions at Brussels Airport June 15

Operational disruptions at Brussels Airport Thursday, June 15, due to power outage; moderate flight delays

Warning

Event

A power outage at Brussels-Zaventem International Airport (BRU) is resulting in disruptions as of the morning of Thursday, June 15. Check-in and baggage check services are particularly disrupted and some airlines, such as Brussels Airlines, are asking passengers to travel with only hand luggage if possible and to arrive at the airport earlier than normal in anticipation of increased waiting times. Moderate delays affecting flights to and from BRU are also occurring.

The power issue has been resolved and operations are progressively returning to normal but residual disruptions are expected throughout the day.

Advice

Travelers are advised to confirm flight statuses prior to departure for the airport and to contact their airlines for further details.
