Russia: Freight train derails in the Bryansk Region, May 1

Event

A freight train traveling between Unecha and Bryansk derailed in the Unechsky District on May 1. The cause of the derailment is unclear; however, initial reports indicate an explosion on the track may have caused the incident. Rail traffic along the line has been suspended. Disruptions to passenger and freight services are likely until the tracks are cleared.
