Go First in India to suspend all operations from May 3-5 amid operational concerns.

Warning

Event

Air carrier Go First (G8) announced the temporary suspension of flight operations May 3-5 amid filing for voluntary insolvency on May 2. Impacted passengers are encouraged to refer to the carrier's website for updates. The airline announced full refunds will be issued to affected passengers to the original form of payment.

Heightened demand for available alternative flights will likely begin over the coming days.

Context

More than half of the carrier's Airbus A320 fleet has been grounded for several months amid reports of supply chain issues with the airplane's Pratt & Whitney engines. Earlier this year, India's Civil Aviation Authority, Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), announced engaging in talks with the manufacturer to find a solution, which is also impacting IndiGo (6E).

Advice

Consider booking alternative travel arrangements if necessary.
