The Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) party plans to stage demonstrations across Karachi, from April 27 to protest against census-related issues. Organizers have called for the following protests:

  • April 27-28: Participants will demonstrate at 25 towns in Karachi.

  • May 1: Protesters will rally at Hyderi Market in North Nazimabad.

Organizers have yet to announce the start times of these events. Other related protests may occur on days not set above. Public participation is unclear, but the grand protest on May 1 is expected to attract at least hundreds of participants.

Authorities will likely deploy additional security in and around the rally sites. Localized transport disruptions are possible due to increased security measures and if demonstrators march on or block roadways. Police may disperse crowds if gatherings become disruptive, possibly leading to clashes.
