Summary
Activists affiliated with The Line Canada movement intend to hold demonstrations in several major cities in Canada Sept. 26 to demand that authorities lift restrictions related to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

The following protest sites and times have been confirmed:

 

  • Toronto, Ontario: Dundas Square, 1200-1500

 

  • Edmonton, Alberta: Alberta Legislature Building, 1300-1500

 

  • Saskatoon, Saskatchewan: Kiwanis Park, 1400-1700

 


The largest rally is likely to occur in Toronto, where thousands of activists are likely to participate. Several hundred demonstrators are likely to participate in the Edmonton and Saskatoon protests. Rallies in other cities throughout Canada are possible.

Heightened security, as well as associated transport and business disruptions, is likely around the protest areas. Counterprotests are unlikely but cannot be ruled out. Clashes between demonstrators and police, and between opposing demonstrators, are possible.

Advice
Avoid all protests as a precaution. Strictly heed the instructions of authorities. Allow additional time to reach destinations if operating in the affected cities Sept. 26.
