Local activists and business owners plan to protest in Bobo-Dioulasso May 30. A march route or possible start time is currently unknown; however, the event will likely begin during early hours in downtown Bobo-Dioulasso. Organizers, which include transport workers and canteen owners, have called for the demonstration in response to night-time curfew hours, which had been introduced as part of measures to curb the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Restrictions on movement remain in place 2100-0400, despite the relaxation of other measures.

An increased security presence is possible across the city in response to the planned event. Transport disruptions are possible near any protest area.
