Summary
Activists, affiliated with the ReOpen Wisconsin organization, plan to hold a protest in Madison, Wisconsin, from 1300 April 24, to demand state authorities lift restrictions on businesses, which are currently in place to combat the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Demonstrators intend to gather at the corner of Mifflin and Pinckney, outside the Wisconsin State Capitol.

Hundreds, possibly thousands are likely to participate in demonstrations, which is expected to lead to transport and business disruptions in the area. Heightened security is likely around the State Capitol. Similar demonstrations in other state capitols have been mostly peaceful. However, Wisconsin authorities denied a permit to protest organizers, increasing the likelihood of some skirmishes between demonstrators and police. Nonessential businesses are required to remain closed through at least May 26 in Wisconsin.

Advice
