Activists associated with several organizations, including Mainers Against Excessive Quarantine, plan to hold a protest in downtown Augusta, Maine, April 20 to demand state authorities lift some of the business restrictions in place to curb the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Activists, including state lawmakers, intend to march between Blaine House, the governor's residence, and the Maine State House, starting at 1200. Simultaneously another group of demonstrators plans to drive their vehicles around the area in support of the end of restrictions.

State authorities have reminded organizers that a stay at home order is in place, and participants could face fines and even arrest.
