Police units are continuing their operation to disperse pro-Palestine protesters from the University of Amsterdam's Binnengasthuis premises in central Amsterdam as of the early evening of May 8. Officers have cleared most barricades erected by demonstrators and made an unspecified number of arrests. Some clashes between police and activists have occurred during the operation; authorities have as yet released no reports concerning any injuries.

Heightened security will likely continue near the demonstration site through the evening and into the early morning hours. Localized transport disruptions are likely near Binnengasthuis. Further clashes are possible until authorities have dispersed all of the activists and completely secured the area.

Avoid the affected area into at least the morning of May 9. Allow additional time if traveling near the Binnengasthuis campus. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers. Immediately depart the area at the first sign of any security disturbance.
