Mexico: Activists plan to march in Mexico City from 10:00 May 7

Activists to march in Mexico City, Mexico, from 10:00 May 7; heightened security, localized transport and business disruptions likely.

Warning

Around 3,000 activists affiliated with the Federation of United Traditions for Mexico A.C. (Federacion Tradiciones Unidas por Mexico A.C.) plan to march in Mexico City from 10:00 May 7. The purpose of the action is to defend animal-based cultural traditions, such as bull running. Participants will gather at Monumento a la Revolucion before marching toward the Zocalo.

Although the action should remain largely peaceful, authorities will probably deploy an increased police presence to the vicinity of the demonstration as a precaution. Localized transport and business disruptions are likely along the march route.

Avoid the march as a precaution. Allow additional time to reach destinations if operating in the impacted area. Seek alternative routes to circumvent any related transport disruptions. Heed the instructions of security personnel.
