India: Air India Express restores flights May 10 after nationwide cabin crew shortage /update 1

Air India Express flights restored across India as of May 10 after cabin crew shortage ends. Lingering flight disruptions likely.

Informational

Air India Express (IX) is restoring all flights as of May 10 after a cabin crew shortage ended. The shortage was caused by cabin crew members collectively reporting sick on May 6 to protest the alleged mismanagement of the airline, causing delays and cancellation to over 175 flights.

Further lingering flight delays and cancellations are likely over the coming days as the airline works to clear the backlog.

Confirm flight reservations through at least mid-May. Do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed. Consider making alternative arrangements for time-sensitive travel if necessary.
