US: Federal Aviation Administration ground stop advisory lifted for all Alaska Airlines flights April 17 /update 2

US Federal Aviation Administration ground stop advisory lifted for all Alaska Airlines flights April 17. Lingering disruptions likely.

Warning

As of 08:30 PDT April 17, the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has lifted the ground stop it had issued for Alaska Airlines (AS) and its subsidiary Horizon Air (QX) earlier in the day. The carrier had requested the FAA issue the advisory due to a problem with a system upgrade for aircraft weight and balance calculations. Partner airline SkyWest (OO) was excluded from the measure. The ground stop was in effect for one hour.

Lingering flight disruptions are likely for several hours as the airline works to clear backlogs.

Contact travel services provider to reconfirm flights if booked to fly on Alaska Airlines or Horizon Air through at least the end of April 17.
